DETAILED DESIGN
Detailed Design drawings
Following the preparation of the ‘Building Specification’, your Architect/Structural Engineer should now be in a position to prepare technical Architectural/Engineering Drawings (at a scale of 1:50), and Specifications, to enable ourselves to prepare a draft ‘Schedules of Work’ in readiness for tendering.
These Architectural/Engineering Drawings should be dimensionally accurate and coordinated, and will generally comprise:
- a Site/Block Plan,
- 1:50 Floor Plans (showing any changes in floor levels/finishes, external walls, load bearing and non-load bearing internal partitions, stairs, Bathroom layouts, Kitchen/Utility layouts, built-in joinery and the like),
- 1:50 Sections (showing frame/external wall construction, floor construction, damp proof/tanking arrangements, weathering and thermal insulation)
- 1:50 Front, Rear and Side Elevations (showing door and window openings and balconies),
- 1:50 Roof Plan (showing roof finishes, roof light(s) and rainwater disposal),
- ‘External Works’ Plan (showing underground drainage, driveways, gates paths, external paving, retaining walls, swimming pool and site boundaries)
