PROJECTS IN HANIA (OLD TOWN)

General considerations

It is possible to undertake renovation work in 'The Old Town' throughout the year, subject of course to the requisite Licences.

However, all 'noisy' building works, and any work involving scaffolding and works to the external elevations and roof, must be carried out during the 6 month period between November and April, with non-disruptive internal works, such as electrical wiring, plastering, decorations and the like, being carried out between the months of May and October.

Irrespective of the time of year, working hours are restricted to 8.30am to 3.30pm.  No building works are permitted on Saturdays or Sundays.

These working hours are rigorously enforced by the Hania Police Dept., and working outside these hours will, as a minimum, result in significant fines.
